Avoid these 3 common pitfalls in affiliate marketing
Beside network marketing, affiliatemarketing is one of the most effectiveand powerful ways of earning money online.
However, like all businesses, there are pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business as well. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making everyday.
That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.
* Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate product
Many people want to earn from affiliatemarketing as fast as possible.
In their rush to be part of one, they tendto choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is “hot”.
They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.
Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try to choose a product in which you are truly interested in and passion about.
For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions. Promoting a product you are passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.
Mistake number 2:Joining too many affiliate programs.
Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting.
Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.
True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.
The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be ashuge as you were thinking initially it would.
The best way to get excellent result is by joining just ONE program that pays a 50%commission at least.
Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.
The technique is to do it slowly but surely.
There is really no need to rush into things.Make sure you conquer one product, then you move on to the next one.
Mistake number 3:Not buying the product or using the service.
As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service.
It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to createa desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.
Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises.
If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.
Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. Do not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.
Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are in the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.
To your Success,
Marsden

Seven topic ideas for a killer viral eBook
By Dwain Jeworski (Internet Marketing Center's VP of Marketing)
Last week I wrote about how information -- in the form of eBooks -- was THE best thing to sell in 2008.
After all, when you sell an eBook, you can make countless duplications of it at NO additional cost. Your manufacturing, stocking, packaging AND delivery costs are non-existent.
That means your profit margin is 100%!
But did you know that you can multiply the profits of an existing business by giving an eBook away -- for FREE?
"How can you make money by giving something away for free?" you ask?
It's simple... you create a free eBook stuffed with tons of valuable information, and then use it as a VIRAL marketing tool, encouraging people to download it, read it, and share it with their friends.
Once people see the value you're giving away for free, they'll want to pass it on to their friends - and word about you and your business will spread like wildfire through the online community.
Done right, this strategy can give you a strong personal AND professional reputation online, while creating plenty of visibility for you and your business.
And it can drive a ton of new visitors to your website... resulting in a huge increase in sales of your product!
(In fact, you can even use a free viral eBook to promote the eBook you're selling. The quality of the information you offer in your viral eBook will go a long way to persuading potential customers that your main eBook is well worth the price.)
Best of all, a viral eBook is a FREE advertising tool.
You don't need to pay to get it in front of potential customers, because they'll already be sharing it with each other. They'll email their friends a copy... or send a copy to a coworker through instant messaging... or post it on a blog or forum... and your message will spread across the Internet while you sit back and watch.
Okay, so you're excited about using a viral eBook as a marketing tool, but you still have one main question:
... What on earth can you write about???
Here are seven proven ideas you can use to get started creating your own free viral eBook today:
Idea #1: Industry update report
If major changes have recently happened in your industry -- or if there are any major developments on the horizon -- an industry update report can be a great way to get your name associated with these hot new trends and developments.
This is a great way to make a name for yourself within your industry. And when the trend heats up, you can bet that the number of people reading and sharing your eBook will skyrocket, too.
Idea #2: Industry resource guide
A resource guide can be really helpful to people who are just getting started in your industry, or who are looking for new contacts, ideas, or opportunities.
By writing this type of guide, you can develop a strong reputation for yourself as a reliable "industry insider" whom people can approach when they're looking for resources. And when the time comes for them to buy a product or service, you can bet that YOU will be the first person they turn to.
Idea #3: Interviews with industry experts
Everyone loves to hear what the leaders in their industry are doing. After all, one of the best -- and fastest -- ways to become successful is to follow in the footsteps of those who've already achieved incredible success.
It's easy to create an eBook that's made up of a collection of interviews. All you have to do is send out a few emails to people in your field and ask them to share their experiences with you. People love to talk about what they do.
Plus, with this type of eBook, you'll have 100% exclusive, original content - which is sure to appeal to your potential readers!
Idea #4: Special tips from industry insiders
This variation on Idea #3 can be another great source of valuable content. Instead of interviewing experts, you simply contact them and ask for their tips on how to solve common problems and overcome obstacles in your field. Then, group the tips by topic and you'll have a book of "insider tips" that's sure to be a hit.
Idea #5: "How-to" instruction guides
Of course, if you're something of an expert yourself, there's no need to consult with other experts to create your eBook! Go ahead and write your own eBook that teaches people a hard-to-learn skill or helps them get started in your field of expertise.
Idea #6: User manuals for hard-to-use products
If you have expert knowledge or lots of experience with a product that's hard to use, you could create a start-to-finish user manual or beginner's guide that helps new users get up and running with the product. If it's a product that's just starting to grow in popularity, your eBook will be sure to create a buzz.
Another variation on this idea is to create an eBook that lists alternate uses for common products and explains how people can start using them in new ways. For example, you might write a guide that lists 10 little-known uses for iPods, or 10 creative ways to recycle your old computer equipment.
Idea #7: Reviews of industry products
Product reviews are becoming indispensable resources in the online shopping community. People love to read reviews of products before they buy them - so if you've tried out some popular products that would appeal to your market, you've got some great information to include in your eBook.
So there are some ideas to get you started... Choose the one that appeals to you most and run with it!
Just remember that when you create your eBook, you'll want to use software that allows you to...
1. Track the number of copies distributed
-- and --
2. Capture reader contact information
After all, you're going to want to know how popular it is with your audience, and how many people end up sharing it with others.
And of course, you'll want to stay in contact with the people who have downloaded it. They've demonstrated an interest in the information you have to offer -- and that means they've just identified themselves as great potential customers!
Your viral eBook will help you gain a "sales force" of thousands of enthusiastic people who recommend your eBook to everyone they meet... helping you build a rock-solid reputation for yourself.
And you can bet that when these potential customers are in the mood to make a purchase that's related to the subject of your eBook, you're one of the first sources they'll think of!

What to sell online in 2008?
By Dwain Jeworski (Internet Marketing Center's VP of Marketing)
Every week, we get dozens of emails asking the exact same question: "Help! What should I sell online?"
Now, at IMC we're not going to tell you exactly what product you should sell to make great money on the Internet.
(After all, if we told the thousands of you who read this blog to start selling "Product X," then you'd be facing quite a lot of competition, wouldn't you???)
But what we will do is tell you exactly what TYPE of product you should be selling, if you want to reap the greatest profits from all your online efforts.
And that type of product is...?
INFORMATION.
Yes, you read that right. Information is by far the most profitable kind of product you can sell online.
Why?
Think about it for a moment... What do the vast majority of Internet users go online to search for?
That's right. Information. Which means that by selling highly sought-after information on your website, you're giving people exactly what they're looking for!
And that's a recipe for online success.
Here are some more reasons why information is the best type of product to sell on the Internet...
When you sell "hard" products that require physical delivery, you have to deal with the cost and hassle of manufacturing, stocking, and packaging -- not to mention shipping your product. And all those things take a serious bite out of your profit margin.
However, when you sell information -- in the form of an electronic "eBook," for example -- once you've created your master copy, you can make countless duplications of it, at NO additional cost. Your manufacturing, stocking, and packaging expenses are non-existent!
And because you can deliver your electronic eBook instantly to your customers, your shipping costs are zero, as well.
That means your profit margin is 100%!
Your customers will be especially attracted by the promise of instant gratification. They won't have to wait days (or even weeks!) for their product to arrive -- it'll get downloaded to their desktop in just a minute or two, which means they can start accessing that information right away.
And once your website is up and running, you can automate your entire business so it takes just an hour or two a week to run! You can set up your order form and "shopping cart" system to automatically process the order, put the money in your bank account, and electronically deliver your product to the customer. It's the perfect "hands-free" business!
... And you don't even have to be a writer!
To create a best-selling eBook, you don't even have to be a professional writer! You can hire someone else to do the writing for you. Simply tell them what topics you want your eBook to cover, and then let them go to it.
(A great place to hire writers who won't charge you an arm and a leg is www.elance.com.)
Or, if you're just starting out and don't have any extra money to invest in product development, you could create an "interview compilation" book. All you have to do is interview various leaders in your industry then type up the interviews and put them all together in your eBook.
For example, if you want to sell a book on how to house-train a puppy, interview three or four well-known dog trainers in your area. Then type up the transcripts of the interviews and put them together in an eBook.
You could even consider compiling articles written by other people that focus on a particular topic of interest to your customers. Maybe there are already a bunch of articles online that talk in detail about the different ways to house-train a puppy.
All you have to do is get permission from the original authors to reuse their content, put all the articles together into an eBook, and ta-da! You've got a product on your hands.
How do you get permission from the authors?
Simply explain to them that your eBook will provide great publicity for them and let them know you are planning to widely distribute the final product. Make sure they understand they'll receive full credit for their work and that their contact information will be made available to readers (along with mention of other products and services they might offer).
Once you have compiled all of the contributors' work, you should have a highly valuable publication on your hands. And you didn't have to write any of it yourself!
The FASTEST way to be making good money online
You can write a profit-generating eBook -- and build the site to sell it -- in as little as 2-3 weeks. There's no faster way to make a solid income selling your very own product online.
And once your site is up and running, you can get feedback from your visitors and customers and start testing new ways to sell to them, so you can perfect your product and your sales process so it's making maximum profits in the minimum amount of time.
But that's not all... Once your eBook business is truly booming, you can start adding more products on to the back end, which you can then sell to your customers and boost your profits still higher!
So that's my best possible answer to the never-ending question of, "What do I sell online?"

What kind of Income can I earn as an affiliate?
Well, a site with a medium amount of traffic receives a monthly referral check of hundreds. There are also web sites that earn under $100 a month (very low- traffic sites) and others as high as thousands a month (popular, high-traffic sites). There are super affiliates like Rosalind Garner who earns a whopping $500,000+ per year selling other people's products and Ewen Chia who earns his million dollars status promoting other people's products.
The amount you earn depends on the type of people that visit your site, how many visitors you receive monthly, and how much exposure you give your affiliate promotions on your site.
Sites that have links to the affiliate product in many places throughout their web sites do MUCH better than sites that have just one link. The same holds true for people who actively promote the products -- through e-mail marketing, buying classified ads, etc. Exposure is the key to the success of your campaign.
Make sure you spend some time reading the various tips and promotion ideas from your affiliate sites. You'll discover the same secrets that their top affiliates (affiliates earning tens of thousands per month) are using so that you can experience the same success. Even implementing just one of the techniques they share can literally double your monthly commission checks!

Generator Software’s Affiliate Program
Generator Software has one of the longest standing affiliate programs on the web and with best selling products that have stood the test of time, it looks to be one of the premiere affiliate programs to join.
************************************
I like ....
************************************
First and foremost, this affiliate program is managed which makes a major difference. That means if you have questions, there is someone there to answer them.
The commissions are great and what's even better is the retention. They have such a low refund and on average, when a customer buys a product from Generator Software for the first time, that same customer will typically purchase 2-3 more within the next 4 months - all of which you receive back end commissions on!
They also provide weekly training covering a wide range of topics such as generating traffic, PPC marketing, building your list, designing review sites as well as some fundamentals like the basics of building a good affiliate business.
The other major piece worth noting is the fact that it’s a 2-tier affiliate program. That means it’s possible to generate a residual income from people you refer to the affiliate program who then make sales.
Finally, if you like Generator Software products then it’s worth being an affiliate as they provide insights and advanced notice on all new products and releases.
************************************
Things To Watch For
************************************
As with any affiliate program, you still need to take action!
Although the Generator Software team provide lots of prewritten emails, templates and tools (and they add new material all the time), it’s still worth noting that you won’t generate any sales unless you actually use their information.
Furthermore, it’s probably in your best interest to use the pre-written material as a guideline and then tweak it to fit your own personality or writing style.
The last thing to watch for are their rules and regulations.
You can NOT purchase their products through your own affiliate link and it’s important to know that otherwise you could be removed from the affiliate program.
************************************
Conclusion
************************************
The Generator Software affiliate program is definitely one of the best programs to join online and it’s stood the test of time.
With 11+ years under it’s belt, it continues to grow and prove why Generator Software is one of the most recognized brands for online entrepreneurs. The products are rock solid and they sell well which are all good signs for affiliates.

Turn Your Trash Into Cash With Ebay
Hone Your Business Sense
The key to being a successful seller on eBay-or any type of business, really-is selling products that people want to buy. Even the best advertisement can't move an item that nobody desires. Top-selling items on eBay include clothing, computers, MP3 players, mobile phones and sporting accessories. On top of being priced competitively, unique and rare items do better than stuff they can get just about anywhere.
Do Your Research
Not everything in the back of your wardrobe or in the dank corners of your storeroom will fetch you a nice chunk of change. Make a list of stuff you want to sell and then research these items on the site. Find out if similar items have been successfully auctioned before, and what are the price ranges. You should also read up on before you start selling.
Get A Good Rapport
eBay and other online Auction sites like Yahoo! Auctions work on trust. To establish yourself as a credible seller, you have to build a positive feedback from your community of buyers. Potential buyers will size you up before they part with money for your "exotic" art piece. Start by building your feedback rating - probably by selling unwanted items from around the house. If a dispute arises between you and your buyer, think twice before typing up a scathingly bad rating. Slinging e-mud in the form of poor ratings means little for your credential and could well backfire on you. Try to sort it offline - you're here to make money, not enemies
Have A Marketing Plan
Like any business, you need to market your product effectively. In this case, it means investing in a decent digital camera to take pictures of the items you're selling. The better your pictures, the more attractive the product looks to the prospective buyer. And just so that someone who's selling the same item can't filch your picture and pass it off as his own, watermark your pictures using a simple software like MS Windows' Paint. Marketing your product also means describing it in a straightforward and honest way. Any kind of dishonesty will invariably come back and haunt you in the form of a bad selling rating.
